The Reagan Council exists in order to support the candidacy of Supervisor John Polimeni. President Reagan was once asked if he held any responsibility for the fiscal mess in Washington. He replied “Yes, because for many years I was a Democrat”
The Reagan Council therefore is not opposed to supporting life long Democrats for office, so long as they agree to fully fund the Town’s Department of Law, continue to work with powerful local Democrat politicians to get town grants, and register as members of the Conservative Party to give us cover.
This organization was formed to oppose the Town of Rotterdam GOP, which , to its discredit, refused to go along with our rouse and instead decided to endorse a life long Conservative instead. Clearly, the Rotterdam GOP doesn’t get how politics works in Schenectady County. They forgot its not what’s best for the party, its only what’s best of the powerful behind the scene players who want to control power and create and fund more patronage jobs.

- Continue to support a law that requires residents to register with the town if their home is vacant for 30 days. Failure to do so will lead to thousands in fines. There are no exemptions in the law for military service or snow birds or trips to visit sick relatives, but don’t worry-we promise we won’t fine you if these things happen! Trust us, we’re politicians! This is for your own good!
- Replace our current assessor with years of experience with my secretary with zero experience. This is important so we can be sure to keep assessments as high as possible!
- Raise the Pay of our hardworking Town Attorney John Mertz. He is currently paid the meager some of $154,000 a year plus an assistant, Healthcare and 6 weeks vacation. He needs and deserves more money because he got me the nomination for Supervisor in the first place. Town residents will be happy to pay more!

- Install Water Meters across the town of Rotterdam. Residents currently pay a flat fee. Water meters will track all your usage and make you pay a lot more, for no additional services. It’s a win-win…for me.
- Refuse to use town resources to hang any banners honoring Veterans. If they want banners, let them grab a ladder and do it themselves
- Eliminate Public Comment at meetings. I already limited the time people speak but the time has come to get rid of it altogether. I’m a professor, there isn’t anything you the public can inform me on.
- Appoint more Democrats and unqualified trolls to town committees and positions. As my appointments of Diane Marco and Lisa Mayo have shown, I am not afraid to empower bad people in order to further my agenda
- Make more deals with Angelo Santabarbara. If he will give me grant money for pet projects, I will do whatever he says. Jump? How high. I will never carry a petition for a candidate Angelo doesn’t like. I love this guy!
- Hire more employees terminated for cause in the City of Schenectady. I did a great job getting quality folks when I was a Democrat Councilman in the City. Elise Squeglia-Blum was one of those folks. She worked hard to shut down law abiding businesses because she thought it was funny. For this she was wrongly fired as a building inspector. I’ll find more like her to work in my administration!
- I love windmills. As an economics professor, I made some videos explaining all of their benefits to folks too dumb to understand. In my next term, we will make sure windmills make a comeback and solar panels float in all of our ponds.
- I will also continue to support brave public officials like my former Deputy Ron Schlag. Ron outed and insulted a gay town resident on Facebook. We need more truth tellers like him in Town Government. If you're gay in Rotterdam, you don’t need to worry about hiding. Ron will make sure the internet knows!
- I will continue to land all over our town employees. Many have been here for years’ but again, I have a PHD. I know far more than they do. Next term I plan to institute even more repressive measures. Most town employees perform only marginally well under constant supervision from me and my dog. That must end!
